17th Annual Butler Fest

The 17th Annual Butler Fest will take place October 9th-10th, 2020. Our barbecue events will be sanctioned by Kansas City Barbecue Network and Alabama Barbecue Association. Businesses show their town spirit with a parade of decorated pigs announcing the event. Children of all ages can have fun at the carnival beginning Friday. Over 75 food and craft vendors will be set up around Courthouse Square beginning Friday morning. Bring your shopping money! Saturday kicks of with a 5K run, 2 mile walk, and Kid's Fun Run.  All day Saturday local talent will be displayed at the Grand Stand. Show off your singing voice or your best hog call. After the barbecue winners are announced the streets, shut down for a dance.

Entry Fee $100.00 per boat
(This includes $10.00 lunker fee per boat)


Blast off will be determined by you when you register 


Pay-out Schedule:  95% of Entry Fees to be paid out in cash
Lunker pot will be 100% pay back at $10.00 per boat.

Miss Butler Fest Pageant 2020

Located at the American Legion Post #81, 805 W Pushmataha St. Butler, AL.


Pageant: 6:00 P.M.
Registration: 4:30-5:30 P.M.

AGE DIVISIONS: 
GIRLS: 0-11 Months, 12-23 Months, 2-3 Years, 4-5 Years, 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-up

ATTIRE:
Contestants may compete in church dress, flower girl dress or pageant dress.

AWARDS:
A Queen and 3 runners-up will be chosen. Queens in each age divisions will receive a crown, trophy, and banner. Runners-up will receive a trophy and crown. 

ENTRY FEE IS $50.00 FOR BEAUTY.
PRETTIEST HAIR, PRETTIEST SMILE, PRETTIEST EYES, and PHOTOGENIC are FREE.
Please bring photo to the pageant with you. 

SPONSOR TICKETS:
You may sell sponsor tickets for $1 each to help pay for your entry fee. Any contestant selling 100 tickets over entry fee will receive a 3ft trophy and crown. The contestant selling the MOST over entry fee will receive a 5ft trophy and crown.

DOOR ADMISSION:
There will be a $5 admission fee for ADULTS and a $3 for CHILDREN 6-12.

Butler Fest 5K Run, 2 Mile Walk, and Children's Fun Run
Saturday, October 10, 2020
Known for "throw up hill", the annual Butler Fest 5K course begins on Academy Avenue before taking 17 to Vanity Fair for a loop around Choctaw General Hospital and back.  Those who pre-register are guaranteed a long-sleeved race tee shirt and an abundance of door prizes are given away.   Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. for the  5K Run/2 Mile Walk. Runners will begin at 8:00 with walkers starting shortly after at 8:05. Kid's Fun Run participants registration will open at 8:00 with the run beginning at 9:00. 


Registration Fees:

Race/Walk: $20 pre-registration/ $25 Race Day

Fun Run: $15 pre-registration/ $20 Race Day

Food, Arts, Crafts, and More!!

Come shop with us! Check back for a schedule of hours for our local stores open during the Butler Fest event. 

Courthouse Square will come alive with vendors beginning Friday, October 11th at 8:00 a.m. We have over 75 vendors with arts, crafts, and food. It is a perfect time to get a jump on your Christmas shopping. Make sure you visit both days to see all of the vendors have to offer. 

If you are interested in setting up a vendor booth, we are currently looking for specialty craft vendors. All electricity required vendor spots are limited.

Booths are 10X12 with no exceptions. If you have a concession or tent that is bigger than 10 x 12 you will need to purchase two spaces.

Prices: 
Regular booth: $50.00 for 1 day  and $75.00 for 2 days.
Booth with electricity: First come first served basis

2020 Best Dressed Pig


The Town of Butler would like your help in advertising the 17th Annual Butler Fest.  Pick-up your pig head today and get creative! There is no charge for your first pig head. Replacement pig heads and second pig heads are $25.00.  However, you must register to be judged.  

The most creative or unusual pig will be judged on visibility and originality by the Butler Fest committee with an extra 5 points being awarded for the pig being displayed by September 20th.  Pigs will be judged on Thursday, October 8th.

Extra points will be awarded to pigs with "October 9th and 10th" and "Butler Fest ’20" as part of the decoration.

Winners will be announced at the grand stand October 10th @ 11:30 a.m. 

Number of prizes to be awarded will be determined by number of participants.
